Calibishie Cove: Dominica’s Premiere Eco-Tourism Hotel
I toured my native island last month and was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to spend a weekend at Calibishie Cove; owned by Ken Guiste. This eco-hotel is the premiere spot for avid world travelers. Located in the northern part of The Commonwealth of Dominica, in Calibishie, a small village far from the hustle and bustle of town, is ideal for those who want to experience authentic island life.
The private tour was sponsored by Norwegian Air Shuttle and Embrace Dominica‘s Yuri A. Jones. I not only got to experience the best that my Dominica had to offer, but, I also made a few great new friends along the way! The following video introduces Ken Guiste and why Calibishie Cove is the ideal vacation spot.
I stayed in the Penthouse Suite which features a wrap-around veranda that looks out to Treasure Island. This little island was one of the locations where “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” (the 3rd in the film’s series) was filmed. Calibishie Cove is also a great spot for bird watching.
Calibishie Cove is also a beautiful destination for weddings and other special events. The property boasts two large suites and two additional rooms which are suitable for any budget. The entire hotel can also be booked for a great rate. With amenities from a gazebo style yoga studio, private tours, and on-site chef, Calibishie Cove is also ideal for vacationers seeking the VIP experience. Who says you cannot enjoy the Caribbean in style, after all!
